At TSJ BACK and NECK CARE CENTER we offer a state of the art comprehensive treatment approach for the relief of back and neck pain. Our treatment approach targets the cause of back pain, known to be a combination of instability caused by weakened back muscles. Strengthening these important muscles with our MedX Core Spinal Fitness program has been shown to significantly reduce or eliminate pain in 4 out of 5 individuals.

Leg pain treatment

Two muscles in particular have been shown to be weak in those who have or have had low back pain

When the abdominal core muscles are strong they act like a corset, taking the pressure off the back and pulling all the other abdominal muscles into place.

Because pain reduces one’s ability to move, muscles continue to weaken to a mere fraction of their potential strength, resulting in increased pain and discomfort. Fortunately, muscles respond rapidly to specific, isolated and intensive muscle strengthening. Stronger muscles improve the structural support of the spine and help reduce nerve, disc, and joint pressure — relieving pain and improving function.

Abdominal treatment

  • The transverse abdominus -The deepest of the abdominal muscles, this lies under the obliques (muscles of your waist). It acts like a weight belt, wrapping around your spine for protection and stability.
  • The multifidus muscles are small muscles close in to the spine. You can't contract these muscles directly, they respond to movement and action of the Transvers Abdominus. They also atrophy in a first episode of back pain.

It is evidence based."Position Statement" on management of chronic low back pain states, "Supervised exercise programs are strongly recommended in the treatment of low back pain." The MedX system is exactly this, a supervised exercise programme, and as such, fits in perfectly with these evidence-based guidelines. Studies published show the benefits of exercising on the MedX Core Spinal Fitness System, anyone can be assured that the MedX will deliver what we say it will.

Feel the Torque

Torque is the difference between the rotation of the shoulders and the rotation of the hips on the backswing. A big shoulder turn with tight resistance in the hips enables you to explode back into the ball. More club head speed means you’ll hit the ball straighter and further. The MedX Rotary Torso secures the hips while it works both sides of the body through a full range of motion, isolating and strengthening the muscles used in the golf swing.

  1. The Core Lumber Strength
This uses a patented effective pelvic restraint system that keeps gluteus and hamstring muscles from interfering with the targeted exercise area. It provides isolation of the lumbar spine muscles, increases stability and allows specific intensive lumbar strengthening.
  2. The Core Torso
Completely isolates waistline muscles. Unique padded restraint system neutralizes shoulder, arm and chest muscles. Separate system of padded restraints effectively locks the pelvis and prevents the hips and gluteus muscles from assisting in rotation of the torso.
  3. The Core AB Isolator
Patented biomechanical design provides the highest degree of isolation for abdominal muscles. Neutralizes hip flexor muscles and restricts arching in the base of the spine unlike other AB machines. It provides core abdominal muscle while eliminating of low back discomfort.
  4. The Core Four Way Neck
Biomechanically precise-trains the flexion and extension muscles of the neck for improved range of movement. Stretches and Strengthens the cervical spinal muscles while promoting increased omni-directional strength and flexibility to the whole neck.
  5. The Core Super Stretch
Patented technology it places the body into biomechanically advantageous positions for really effective stretching. Seven-stretch program enhances movement around the knee, hip, spine shoulder, elbow and wrist including hamstring and hip adductors.
